I decided i needed a winter walking break, somewhere warm! Ramblers Worldwide had some suitable trips to the Canary Islands , the deciding criteria was flight time. I was not going to fly from Gatwick at 0700! I found I could fly from BHX at 1000. so a booking was made despite the 25% single occupancy surcharge
Nearer the departure date Jet2 pushed back departure time to 1125. Even better, a lunchtime flight
I was dropped off at the airport at 0900 and checkin was an experience as i had not been on a plane for 10 years , a charter plane for 40 years! It was efficient process, once you worked out what to do. Walking across the apron to the plane was a novel experience. The plane departed at 1145 and landed at TFS 4 hours later after taking a sea route:-
